James Clar, the first FedEx Institute of Technology Lantana Artist in Residence, exhibited the largest outdoor interactive art piece in Memphis history for the South Main trolley tour Friday, April 28, 2006 (from 6-9 PM). The piece, “Inside/Out,” was positioned on 8 rooftops in the South Main Arts District with activity in each building monitored and relayed to the lighting system on the rooftops – hence the name “Inside/Out.” Clar’s selected works were exhibited April 26 to May 2, 2006 at SubSpaceSouth, 502 South Main Street, Memphis, Tennessee.
